Pratigyabadh

After her husband travels to Bombay to try to make some money in order to pay back a loan to local money-lender Lala Sukhilal, Laxmi is left lonely and apprehensive with her three children. When they fail to hear from him for months Sukhilal offers to help as long as Laxmi becomes intimate with him, but when she refuses he decides to repossess their home and belongings as repayment for the loan.
